Nestled within the picturesque Eola-Amity Hills AVA of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, the rusty earth and south-facing slopes tell a story of nutrient dense soil and excellent exposure–perfect to cultivate spectacular wine grapes.
Named for our soil, rich with iron and a product of a prehistoric volcanic lava flow, TerraFe Estate Vineyard embarked on a journey to grow excellent grapes. We began with 19 acres, carefully chosen from our sprawling 170 acres of prime agricultural and forest land. These initial plantings of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay encircle a serene oak knoll, topping our estate at nearly 900 feet in elevation.
In 2022, we expanded our vineyard by an additional 25 acres, embracing varietals like Gamay Noir, Pinot Blanc, and even experimental plots of Marquette, Trousseau, and Cabernet Franc. Today, we proudly steward 44 acres, with plans for more, employing sustainable farming practices to nurture both land and vines.
While we eagerly await our inaugural harvest of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 2024, we continue to build and develop our vision. We are in the process of designing a tasting room, as well as plan for vegetable gardens, orchard, and livestock in order to sustain our future culinary program and make the land happy and healthy.
